Bengaluru: Manipal Hospitals has secured a land lease of approximately 3.5 acres in Gurugram from TIL Investments Pvt Ltd, the India subsidiary of Thakral Corporation for the development and operation of a multi-specialty hospital.

The healthcare major said it had entered into a long term arrangement with Thakral Corporation structured as a long-term land lease for an initial period of approximately 30 years. The first phase of the proposed hospital is expected to have up to 500 beds.

The proposed hospital is expected to strengthen the brand’s presence in the Delhi NCR region which is an important growth market for the hospital chain, Manipal added.

The healthcare group has proposed to develop an integrated health and wellness ecosystem, anchored around the flagship hospital supported by hospitality and retail offerings.

Manipal said the development is in line with its strategy to cater to the region’s expanding healthcare and wellness demand and create a landmark wellness hub in Delhi NCR.

Dilip Jose, CEO, Manipal Hospitals, said: “Delhi NCR is an important geography for Manipal Hospitals. The proposed hospital in Gurugram will enable us to strengthen our presence in the region and serve its growing healthcare needs. We are pleased to collaborate with the Thakral Group and look forward to bringing Manipal Hospitals’ clinical expertise and patient-centric model of care to this location.”
